Learn the differences between Regular, Back / Improvement, and Mid-Semester question papers.
Throughout the academic calendar at collegiate institutions, several distinct types of examinations are conducted. In our archive, every question paper is classified under its exact examination category.
Exam Types Explained
- Regular Examinations: The primary end-of-term sitting taken by all regular enrolled students. These papers reflect the standard syllabus, full question count, and maximum mark distribution.
- Back / Improvement Examinations: Sittings held for students re-appearing in a paper to clear a backlog or improve their previous score. While based on the same curriculum, Back papers frequently include distinct question variations.
- Mid-Semester Tests: Internal assessment tests conducted by departments midway through each semester, typically evaluated out of 20 marks. These test foundational units.
- Special / Supplementary Examinations: Special examination sittings conducted by the examination cell for specific qualifying batches.
